Alyssa DeMatteo quickly gained popularity in Southern Connecticut's cake and cupcake scene when she launched Wildflour Cupcakes & Sweets as a mere Facebook page in 2013. An opportunity to open a store front in downtown Seymour's Antique District came about and Wildflour Confections was born.
  DeMatteo originally fell in love with the art of cake design and decorating while working as a cashier at a local bakery. In between customers, she watched the bakery's only cake decorator with wide eyes learning everything she could until she proved herself to hold the title of cake decorator as well.
Several years, thousands of cupcakes, cakes, and a girl power staff later, Alyssa's work ethic and determination has paid off.  As a recipient of CT Women's Business Development Council's 2017 "20 For 20" award and most recently the CT Small Business Association's 2018 Young Entrepreneur of the Year she's proving dreams really do come true. 
The Wildflour Confection's shop is a bright and cozy space to work, study, or catch up with friends. Surrounded by a community of fellow small businesses, consignment stores, antique shops, boutiques, and more. It's the perfect spot for an afternoon of strolling, shopping, and of course treating yourself to a sweet!
